LeBron James and Anthony Davis will reunite — not for the Lakers, but for “Team Shaq” in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
In a new four-team format, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley drafted squads as honorary captains. O’Neal picked James first, while Smith took Anthony Edwards second. “Team Chuck” features Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Karl-Anthony Towns, and All-Star debutant Victor Wembanyama.
O’Neal also secured Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and James Harden, but his standout move was drafting Davis. The duo won the 2020 title with the Lakers, though Davis was recently traded to Dallas for Luka Doncic.
NBA scoring leader Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will play for Team Chuck. A fourth team, “Team Candace,” led by Candace Parker, will feature rising stars.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game, with two semifinals and a final, takes place on February 16 in San Francisco.
