The 31st edition of the FIBA Asia Cup is set to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from Tuesday, with 16 teams seeking to clinch the top continental honours.
Australia is the two-time defending champion of the quadrennial tournament after beating Lebanon in the final of the 2022 edition (delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic). Meanwhile, China is the most successful team in the competiton with 16 titles.

The FIBA Asia Cup 2025 will begin on August 5 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the final to be held on August 17.
What is the format for FIBA Asia Cup 2025?
The 16 teams will be split into four groups of four, with the group toppers automatically qualifying for the quarterfinals. The no. 2 and 3 teams, on the other hand, will play against each other to fill the remaining four spots.
Winners of the quarterfinals will then advance to the semifinal, where the victors will head into the finale to battle for the championship. The losing sides, meanwhile, will face each other in a third-place match.
