Gujarat Titans has roped in Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka to replace New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to injury, the 2022 champion confirmed.
Phillips sustained a groin injury while fielding as a substitute in Gujarat’s seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this month and has since returned home.
Shanaka, who was part of the Gujarat squad in 2023 and played three matches for it, will join the team for Rs 75 lakhs.
Gujarat Titans is currently second in the IPL standings with eight points from six matches, and will face table-topper Delhi Capitals on Saturday.
